The redevelopment of building 306 provides more space for experimental teaching
The refurbished auditorium building 306 was completed in January 2020, with new learning environments that support dialogue and experimental teaching.
The main thrust of the redevelopment has been to transform four traditional auditoria into two large experimental learning environments. This means that the classic auditoria with podium construction now stand as two large learning rooms with double ceiling height, a workshop atmosphere that promotes innovation, and a long balcony that can be used for teaching and experiments.
The two large rooms can accommodate a total of 150 students and can be used together across the hall. The rooms are arranged flexibly without fixed set-ups for experiments.
Quite deliberately, everything can be moved around. The auditoria at DTU are generic and must in principle be bookable by everyone. Therefore, the lighting solutions must also be as flexible as possible so that they can be easily adapted to different team sizes, teaching purposes and experiments.
